Happy Bob expands to Europe and Canada, integrating with Dexcom CGM to improve patient engagement with real-time glucose values and self-care adherence.
Happy Bob App offers Dexcom CGM users and their caregivers more ways to interact with their glucose data, including a real-time iOS widget, Apple Watch app, groups, gamification, and humorous personalized messages.
Helsinki, Finland – Diabetes tech startup Harald AI today launched Happy Bob in Europe and in Canada giving more ways for users of Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Systems to engage with their diabetes data through the popular Happy Bob App. Through Dexcom’s real-time APIs, Happy Bob users can view their glucose values by quickly glancing at their Apple Watch or iPhone widget, create groups for support, collect stars and receive time sensitive information and push notifications. Users can also see their historical data in the app for longer than 24 hours, access the expanded view, see insights on their desktop, and laugh at the in-app personalized messaging, alleviating the stress of daily management and glycemic control.
“Dexcom’s Partner Web API leads the way for the future of connected devices. We are really excited to expand our partnership with Dexcom to Europe and Canada. According to our user data, Happy Bob improves patient engagement with their health data, resulting in improvements in time in range, by combining humour, community and gamification with real-time glucose, activity and insulin data.” Says Jutta Haaramo, CEO at Harald AI.
Initially released in 2019, Happy Bob App quickly became popular with CGM users who appreciated the personalized messages and gamification it offered. Embracing a lighter side to diabetes management was a game changer in the digital data space and as a result, users were instantly more engaged and motivated to care for their health.
In March 2022, Happy Bob launched with Dexcom real-time data in the US, allowing people with diabetes to stay more engaged with their own care by turning the real-time data into rewarding experiences helping users to stay more motivate to care for their health.
“Employing laughter, gamification, and community encourages users to engage with their CGM data which we know can improve self-care and quality of life by lifting some of the burden associated with daily diabetes management. We are excited to support the Happy Bob Europe expansion with our real-time data Partner Web API program. Their app is exactly what this program is about: finding ways to improve daily diabetes management and in turn giving users the opportunity to improve their overall health” says Alex Moussa, SVP & General Manager, EMEA Dexcom.
The Happy Bob App is available for download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for Dexcom CGM users in the US, Canada and Europe.

Important update to Happy Bob users outside of the US
18 Feb 2022
We are really sorry to inform you that Happy Bob will stop working outside of the US at the end of February 2022. The reason for the outage is that Happy Bob has been using a legacy channel to access Dexcom CGM data that will no longer be supported. We are working on alternative solutions that would allow us to support Happy Bob users outside of the US again soon.
In the meantime, we encourage all Happy Bob users outside of the US to use the Dexcom G6 and Dexcom Follow apps, for real-time CGM viewing, alerts and remote monitoring. These apps are also compatible with select smart watches for enhanced functionality.
For those of you who have subscribed to a Happy Bob monthly subscription, and can no longer use the app, please cancel your subscription. If you have subscribed to a yearly subscription you can cancel or request for a refund. Please see the instructions for Apple here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084 and for Android here https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481
Happy Bob users in the United States are not affected by these changes.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, and please accept our sincerest apologies.
Kind regards,
Team Happy Bob
